About Us

NT Precision is a small, growing, specialist engineering company with a highly skilled team, known for our technical excellence, innovative solutions and collaborative approach. We provide our customers with a comprehensive range of services from mechanical design through to CNC machining and precision fabrication.

This end-to-end capability enables us to deliver innovative mechanical solutions across sectors including Nuclear and Defence. Much of the equipment we design and build is for use in radioactive areas where remote handling is essential.

We are located in Cockermouth, Cumbria, on the northern edge of the Lake District near Keswick—offering excellent access to outdoor activities such as fell walking, mountain biking, swimming and paddleboarding.

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated graduate mechanical engineer to join our growing team.

  • Identify and plan the manufacturing processes required.
  • Ensure component and documentation quality standards are met.
  • Procure materials and assembly components.
  • Support and carry out in-house testing of projects.
  • Problem solve alongside customers throughout these projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering 2:1 or above.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of CAD software (e.g. Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks or AutoCAD).
  • Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential).

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to work on real engineering projects from concept to manufacture.
  • Career progression within a growing company.
  • Competitive salary.
  • 33 days holiday per year (including 8 bank holidays).
  • 4.5 workings days per week Monday to Thursday 0730 – 1630, Friday 0730 to 1230.
  • Free on-site parking.
